Ammonium thiocyanate

Ammonium thiocyanate is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula NH4SCN, which is colorless and crystalline. Irritant, deliquescent, soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in methanol and acetone, almost insoluble in chloroform and ethyl acetate. Its aqueous solution is blood red when it meets iron salt solution, but it has no reaction when it meets ferrous salt. When the dried product is heated to 159℃, it melts without decomposition, and when it is heated to 170℃, the molecule is transformed into thiourea.
